Delta Dental of Colorado Operations During the Coronavirus
As an organization focused on oral and overall health in Colorado, Delta Dental of Colorado is committed to taking reasonable steps to keep our communities as healthy as possible. To that end, we are following the advice of public health officials to slow the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the load on overburdened health systems by restricting travel and asking team members to work from home when possible. We are keeping our office open for team members whose roles require them to physically be in the office. Whether working from home or in the office, our workforce will continue to maintain operations and service the needs of employer groups, members, providers, and brokers. Read more.

Delta Dental of Colorado is proud to be a Colorado company, and we stand with the people of this great state. To help with providing aid to support Colorado communities and organizations affected by the recent outbreak of COVID-19, Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation is a supporter of the Colorado COVID Relief Fund. Funds will provide flexible resources to organizations in our state working with communities who are disproportionately impacted by the outbreak. For our Employer Groups
All eligible fully insured customers will receive two 50% premium credits, based on the total amounts invoiced for March and April, applied to the July and August invoices. The July invoice issued on June 9, 2020, reflects your first credit. See additional details here. Self-insured customers will see the credits reflected on billing statements they will receive at the end of the month.

A Message to Delta Dental of Colorado Providers from President & CEO, Helen Drexler
Delta Dental of Colorado understands the difficulties many individuals and businesses are experiencing, and we want to help. Our team is currently looking at ways in which we can support our provider community, as you are a critical partner in improving the oral health of the communities we serve. We are evaluating a number of different plans to help our dental providers as we all navigate these uncharted waters. As we work on this evaluation, we need to consider all stakeholders in this process: employees, employers, members, brokers, individual consumers, and providers, in addition to our partners serving communities in need.
- In the interim, to help our network dentists better manage their patient populations during this time, effective Monday, March 30, in addition to paying D0140 (limited oral evaluation, problem focused) for patients seen in person, DDCO will also be paying D0140 for teledentistry visits. While dentists may choose to also submit a teledentistry code (D9995, 9996) for patients being treated remotely, unless already covered by the member's group or individual existing contract, this will be considered to be integral to the examination. - Governor Jared Polis issued Executive Order D 2020 009 instituting a temporary cessation of all elective and non-essential surgeries and procedures. The measure is aimed at preserving personal protective equipment (PPE) and ventilators in Colorado to combat the ongoing spread of COVID-19 and prioritize essential health care services while Colorado is in a state of emergency. The order affects medical, dental, and veterinary licensees. DDCO urges all dental providers and practitioners to continue to follow guidance from the State of Colorado to cease all elective or non-emergency procedures until at least April 30, 2020.

Delta Dental of Colorado understands the difficulties many individuals are experiencing because of COVID-19, and we are extending payment terms for individual customers, and will not automatically suspend or terminate customers because of late payments at this time. Keep in mind that changes to your coverage, including terminating your plan, need to begin with Connect for Health Colorado. We appreciate you choosing Delta Dental of Colorado for your dental insurance needs and are here to support you during these difficult times.
