Which dental plan is right for me?
Your options are outlined below. Please see the plan comparison for details.
Delta Dental Patient Direct (not available in all areas)
- Our lowest cost option
- A discount dental plan
- No waiting periods
PPO Direct
- Our best option if you use a Delta Dental PPO dentist.
- Benefits will only be paid when you visit a PPO dentist.
PPO Plus Direct
- Our most comprehensive option
- Our top selling dental plan
- You may visit any licensed dentist, but will receive the greatest savings when you choose a PPO dentist. If you see a non-participating dentist you are responsible for the difference between the PPO fee and the billed charge, as well as deductibles and coinsurance.
Do I have to go to a particular dentist?
Yes, you must see providers who participate in certain networks, depending on the plan you select. View the plan comparison to learn more.
How are the dental insurance plans different from the discount dental plan?
Dental insurance plans offer the most coverage and a broad selection of dentists. Our dental insurance plans, PPO Direct and PPO Plus Direct, are the top selling products for individuals and families. Our discount dental plan, Patient Direct, is not insurance. It simply provides reduced fees for certain treatments when you see a Patient Direct network provider.
How can I find a dentist or check to see if my dentist participates in Delta Dental’s networks?
During your online enrollment, after you see the rates for your zip code, click on “Find a dentist for this plan.” If you’re not ready to enroll and simply want to know which dentists participate in which networks, visit our website at www.deltadentalco.com and look for the Find a Dentist link.
